School Club Links
Bromley Korfball Club is delighted to announce the start of its school/club programme for 2009/10. For the second year in a row the School Sports Partnership (the body that oversees sports in the Borough's schools) have asked Bromley Korfball Club to run clubs in a number of schools.
This year we will be focusing on a family of schools in each term, to date we have run clubs for six weeks at:
Autumn Term
- Oak Lodge Primary School (this club runs all year as Oak Lodge is our primary link school)
- Clare House Primary School
- Hayes Primary School
- Pickhurst Junior Primary School
Winter Term
- St Johns
- Wickham Common
- Balgowan
- Churchfields
We have also run one off sessions at Bickley Primary School, Ravenswood, St Olaves and Bromley College.
During each term we hope to arrange games between the participating schools and towards the end of the year we hope to run a festival bringing a larger number of schools together.
We are currently also talking with Bromley College of Further and Higher Education to introduce Korfball to the young people studying there. Discussions are also taking place with our local secondary schools.
As with previous years we hope to introduce a large number of young people to Korfball and give them the opportunity to play Korfball at our club.
